Anomaly

Anomaly generally means anything that is strange or unique. In biology, an anomaly refers to any mutations or deformities in the body. Examples of biological anomalies include congenital vertebral anomalies, coronary artery anomalies, and Uhl anomalies. A vertebral anomaly refers to abnormalities in the spine of humans and animals, coronary artery and Uhl anomalies both refer to abnormalities of the heart, coronary artery anomaly referring to an abnormality in the coronary anatomy of the heart, and the Uhl anomaly referring to a loss of muscle in the right ventricle.  Anomalies may be corrected through reconstructive surgery; however, some may be extremely dangerous to repair.
