Apron

An apron, scientifically known as the pannus, is a large segment of loose, hanging skin. An apron may occur after massive weight loss, leaving a significant amount of skin hanging around the area of the abdomen. In severe cases, patients may even have so much excess skin that sitting or walking becomes uncomfortable. Aprons may also cause skin infections and odors that originate from beneath the skin folds. In order to remove the loose skin, a cosmetic procedure known as a panniculectomy is performed. Unlike a tummy tuck that also tightens abdominal muscles; a panniculectomy is simply the removal of excess skin.
