Birthmark
A birthmark is a discolouration of the skin that forms when an infant is still developing. In folklore, people believe that birthmarks represent the unsatisfied wishes of the mothers during the time they are pregnant. Many believe that the shape of the birthmark is related to the thoughts or wishes of the mother at that time. Most birthmarks are not dangerous or threatening to an individual; however, larger birthmarks may cause certain individuals to feel self conscious or unhappy with the way that they look. Certain birthmarks can also be hereditary. In some instances, children at different ages in the same family may bear the exact same mark.
