Breast Implant Removal

Although the results of a breast implant surgery are usually good, there are certain circumstances which may mean that the implants must be removed. For example, implants may rupture or deflate, or shift, causing the breasts too look asymmetric. Other reasons for the removal of a breast implant could be due to the diagnosis of a certain disease or infection, such as breast cancer, or the formation of scar tissue around the implant. In order to remove the implant, surgeons follow a similar method to inserting the implant: incisions are made either around the areola or under the fold of the breast to access and pull out the implant.
