Buccal Fat

Buccal fat is the name for the fat that is stored in the cheeks of an individual. Some individuals have larger, puffier cheeks due to the fact that more fat is stored in the cheek pouches; however, there are certain cosmetic procedures that allow for the removal of buccal fat.  Fat extraction is available for those individuals who wish to reduce the appearance of chubby or chipmunk cheeks and make the face look more chiselled or thin.  After surgery, swelling is to be expected for a few days; however, no serious side-effects are usually present after this procedure. Taking the appropriate medications on time will ensure a fast recovery.
