Craniofacial

The term craniofacial refers to the types of cosmetic surgery involving the face and cranium, or skull. The term may also refer to deformities of the skull, face or jaws. Craniofacial deformities may include cleft lips and cleft palates, as well as others that include the skull, ears, nose or mouth. There are specific surgeons who specialise in the particular corrective surgeries to repair these deformities and the technology and understanding of craniofacial surgery has increased significantly over time. Many craniofacial deformities, such as cleft lips or palates, are able to be repaired or improved during infancy or young childhood.
