Exfoliation

Exfoliation, in the cosmetic field, is defined as the removal of dead skin, dirt, and any other unwanted particles from the body. There are many different methods and products available that allow individuals to experience exfoliation; for example, many body washes and facial scrubs include small bead-like particles in them in order to exfoliate the skin, leaving it feeling smoother and cleaner.  Many other chemical exfoliants are also available for a deeper, more thorough job. Citric acid and glycolic acid are both examples of exfoliants that may be used by dermatologists to treat clients who wish to remove excess skin from the body.
