Genioplasty
A genioplasty, also known as a chin augmentation, is a form of cosmetic surgery that serves to improve or enhance the appearance of an individuals chin. Many cultures believe that a well defined chin is a highly attractive feature; therefore, many people desire to change themselves in order to be deemed attractive by society. In order to alter the shape of the chin, a small, horseshoe shaped implant is inserted after a small incision is made just under the chin. The implant is then carefully moved around until it is in the appropriate position, and fixed so that it stays in place.
