Hirsutism

Hirsutism is a medical condition that is characterised by excessive hair growth in areas of the body where hair growth is usually minimal or absent. Hirsutism is not a disease, but is rather a symptom that may indicate a more serious medical problem. The condition can be caused by an overabundance of male hormones, or androgens in the body. Other symptoms that are caused by excessive hormones in males may be acne, increased muscular mass and a deeper voice. Treatments for hirsutism may include hair removal treatments that help  in controlling the growth of hair, and also courses of a drug that lowers and controls androgens, Spironolactone.
