Intense Pulsed Light
Intense pulsed light, or IPL, is a form of hair removal that uses a xenon flash lamp and special focusing optics to remove hair from the follicles. It is common to notice some redness or raised bumps around the area after treatment, this is known as perifolliculitis and will usually go away after a few hours or days. Many individuals prefer this method of hair removal due to the fact that it is much cheaper and quicker than other methods, such as laser hair removal. IPL works by moving light through the hairs on the skin and converting the light energy to heat energy so that the hair may be vaporised.
