Scar

A scar is an area of fibrous tissue that forms around an area after injury. Scars develop as a result of the body reparing itself after a wound occurs. Scar tissue is usually tougher than original tissue, and no sweat glands or hair follicles grow in scar tissue. Certain types of scarring can be dangerous; for example, a heart attack causes scar tissue to form in the heart, which may result in muscle failure in the heart. Scars can vary in size depending on the size of the injury. Scars can occur naturally and unnaturally. For example, scars that form after surgery are unnatural.
