Skin Tag

A skin tag is a small tumuour that forms on areas of the skin that are creased, such as the armpits, neck and groin; however, skin tags may also occur on the face or eyelids. These tumours are benign and do not grow as time passes, and are usually painless and often go unnoticed. Treatment usually is not necessary for a skin tag unless it is frequently irritating to the skin. Removal of a skin tag is performed in a number of ways, such as cauterisation or excision. Skin tags can be associated with conditions such as polycystic overy syndrome, a condition affecting approximately 5 percent of women.
