Spider Vein
A spider vein is similar to a varicose vein, but is smaller and may apper squiggly and are blue or red in colour. They are named spider veins because they may be spider like in appearance, as they are usually found in clusters. They may also appear tree-like or simply in a pattern of clustered lines. The most common treatment for spider veins is through sclerotherapy, a method that injects a medicine into the vein that causes them to shrink. Lasers may also be used to remove a spider vein from the body. Bruising is a common side effect of this particular treatment.
