Q. I was considering breast implants but the only thing stopping me is I have a fluid filled cyst. Would I still be able to go through with it?

A. Thank you for your inquiry.   I would indeed need more clarity regarding this cyst and its location in the breast.   If the general surgery colleagues specialising in breast surgery are confident regarding its benign nature, as I presume they are, it does not represent a formal contraindication for breast augmentation.   However, you need to be aware that in the future, changes in the cyst may lead to a decision of aspiration or biopsy, and although this can be done under ultrasound guidance, there is still a risk to the implant.   The implant itself would not change your level of risk regarding breast cancer. It would be sensible though to have the augmentation with placement of the implants under the muscle, so that examination of the breasts is facilitated.

Q. I am looking for a price for having my upper eyelids lifted. Can this be done under local anesthetic?

A. Upper eyelid lift , technically speaking, is different from upper eyelid reduction also called upper eyelid blepharopasty. The term upper eyelid lift can imply correction of a droopy upper eyelid caused by muscle weakness of some type. This condition and its treatment is very different from the condition in which there is excess skin in the upper eyelids causing a “hooded appearance” . This web site is unable to provide the cost information about on upper eyelid lift ( correction of upper eyelid ptosis) .However if your  cost enquiry is about correction of excess skin from the upper eyelids , the fees would be in the range of £1700-£2500 in Leicester with an initial consultation fees of £120.00-£150.00.
