Can i have a more permanent solution for fuller lips?
Q. I have been getting injections every 6 months for my lips as they are quite thin especially my upper lip. I wanted to know if their was a more permanent solution and if so costs, risks etc
A. The alternative for long term lip augmentation is primarily related to the Permalip silicone implants, which are soft solid silicone implants of different sizes specifically made for the lips. The cost is usually around the mark of £1000 per lip.In addition, longer term solutions are represented by dermo-fat grafts, which are strips of dermis and fatty tissue transferred from one part of the body to the lips, and possibly by stem-cell enhanced fat transfer for increased longevity.Direct injections of silicone in the lips are still in use, but most practitioners feel that they are unsafe, and in many countries they are not allowed.Other permanent injectable fillers are subject to significant controversy when applied to lip augmentation, and I have no experience of using them, so I cannot give extensive advice on this.
