Q. Please would you give me a estimate on a full body lift after i lost 8 stone in weight. Which parts would you tackle first as i have loose skin all over.
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, first of all well done for losing so much weight you’ve done really well on that front. Normally, most people most concerned about the excess tissue on their abdomen and flanks and thighs and this is normally the area we concentrate on first. Usually a secondary procedure we consider surgery to the chest, neck and arm areas which are normally the second most areas that caused people concern. It might be worth having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk which has lots of information about derm body lift surgery, if you feel you would like to schedule a free consultation to discuss the best way forward for you or would like to talk to one of our specialist surgeons on the phone please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Alternatively, you could email us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Q. I want to know if you do the body lift with suture suspension and if so how much experience you have this? What are costs?
A. Hi there. I don’t do this procedure as I don’t think the results are long lasting and most people wanting a body lift also need skin removal, as they have too much saggy skin. A body lift with suture suspension doesn’t address any excess skin, I’m afraid. So, for many reasons, I don’t do body lifting with suture suspension.

Q. I am a 42-year-old woman and had been struggling with being overweight for some time. I recently decided to do something about this and gave up the foods that cause the weight and also started exercising regularly. I’ve lost just over 70lbs over the last year but I now have a problem with the excess skin left over. Although I have a little money to to spare at the moment I feel that having to remove the loose skin would be beneficial to me. As happy as I am with the fact that I lost the weight but all this excess skin is getting me down. I’m prepared to finance the treatment with what ever means possible and would like to know what treatment you would suggest for my situation? As well as this could you also supply details of costs involved. The excess skin is mainly around my waist and buttocks. Your advice greatly appreciated on this matter. Thank you very much
A. Thank you for your e mail.It sounds like you could benifit from a lower body lift that is a tummy tuck and buttock lift combined in one procedure. It does leave a scar in the bikini line around the body. The cost varies from £7000 to £10000. I could offer you a no obligation consultation to examine you and give you advice as how to proceed. You can phone my sectretary on 01133882193 to arrange a time.RegardsLeRoux Fourie

Q. Im 3 months post op from a body lift and was given the all clear to exercise several weeks ago but still gave myself an extra few weeks anyway. I have noticed that my belly swells up after exercise but I dont suffer any pain at all. I am due to go back to the surgeon next week to see him I just wondered if you have heard of this yourself please?
A. It depends on what the swelling is being caused by, as to whether it is worrying or not, but swelling and scarring will continue to improve over the months after an operation.

Q. Body Lift surgery is what I am seeking after losing six stone in weight the excess skin around my stomach is the most annoying disheartening thing in the world. I was told to wait a year and a half after losing the weight to see if it would tighten naturalkly but this has not been the case at all despite my best efforts with food and working out.
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, if you have achieved your ideal weight now I think that it’s unlikely that the skin will naturally tighten. Usually after this skin will retract after couple of months if it is going to do so and unfortunately if you do lose a considerable amount of weight such as a six stone its unlikely that skin will fully retract. It’s certainly would be worth considering a body lift procedure and if you would like to schedule a consultation with one of our specialist surgeon who concentrate on this type of surgery please ring us on 01844-214362. We’d be delighted to schedule a convenient time for a free consultation to discuss the best way for you. In the mean time, you may find it useful to have a look at our website bodyliftsurgery.co.uk which has information about this type of surgery. Many thanks for your enquiry, we look forward to meeting you in person in the near future should you decide to schedule a consultation. Q. I would like a rough guide as to how much a body lift would cost me. I am currently losing weight through the Cambridge Diet, overseen by my GP – having lost 2 stone I have a further 5 stone to go. I can see that once I reach my goal I am going to have to have some of the loose skin removed.
A. Well done on the weight loss. A lower body lift is around the £10.000 mark with hospital stay. Best wishes Barbara see www.barbarajemec.com for information on procedures, prices and consultations

Q. I had a gastric bypass about 2 years after being morbidly obease for a number of years. The surgey has been very effective but I have been left with a large number of areas that have a lot loose skin. I would like some advice on treatments to lift most of my body and would the fact I have a weight loss surgery cause any issues? Thank you very much for your help
A. Thank you for your enquiry. Firstly, very well done for losing the weight. What you describe is an increasingly frequent problem for many of our patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. The options for lifting are 1. Body lift. 2. Thigh lift 3. Lateral Chest and Arm lift. Following massive weight loss, your weight should be stable for at least a year before surgery. You will need to have a full blood screening to check that you are nutritionally good to heal following your surgery. What is appropriate and safe for you will need to be assessed at the tim eof your consultation. Please call Anne or Kirstie on 0845 009 2775 or email kirstie@lbps.co.uk who will be happy to arrange your consultation or provide further information.Best regards

Q. I am 27 years of age and have not yet had any children. I want to undergo Bariatric body contouring to improve my neck, upper arms, tummy, the back and inner thighs.
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, I’m not quite sure from the email whether you have had Bariatric surgery or you are thinking of having it. If you feel you are overweight the best option is to consider Bariatric surgery or the digastric by-pass, gastric bland or gastric balloon first. Then lose the weight. Once you have lost the weight, we consider performing surgeries such as a bodylift to remove the excess tissue from your tummy, arms and bust region. If you are considering bariatric surgery initially it will be best to contact a bariatric specialist to discuss the best way forward for you. We do not perform the gastric by-passes procedures ourselves but we do perform the surgery to remove the excess skin. If you have lost the weight and feel the main problem is excess skin will be delighted to help you and you could arrange a consultation by ringing us on 01844-214362. In the mean time, it might be sensible to visit our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk where you’ll find lots of information about this type of surgery including a podcast in which I discuss the surgery with someone who has recently undergone it. I wish you the best of luck if you do decide to schedule a consultation and look forward to meeting with you if you feel we will be able to help you. Q. I am struggling to find a lot of information on a thigh and buttock lift. I have a bit of sagging, and I have stretch marks on the inside and outside of my thighs. Will a thigh and buttock lift help reduce the number and appearance of my stretch marks?
A. There is not a lot of information about. It sounds like you could benefit from a body lift ( is your tummy saggy as well?)I wouls suggest a consultation as you can then be examined in front of a mirror and markings of the excision drawn on you. My website has photos of a body available
