Q. I had breast implants 15 years ago i would like them done again is it ok to have more surgery and is it straight forward second time around and how much would it cost??
A. Hi there. Generally speaking, replacing implants is relatively straightforward and it usually is fine to have more surgery. The costs depend on the implants we use and, for example, for Nagor Impleo round implants the cost is £100 for a consultation and £2999 for the surgery. Q. I want to get breast implant and tummy tuck ,can i have it done together and would i be able to come home the same day , also what is the cost to have both done together.
A. hi. you can have both done at the same time but you probably won’t be able to go home the same day as you’ll be too sore if you have both of them done together. You can certainly go home if you want though, and we don’t keep you in hospital any longer than you need to be. You get a discount on the cheaper procedure if you have them both done together, and the cheaper procedure will be the breast augmentation which costs £2999. with the discount of the two procedures together the cost of the augmentation will be £1500 and the cost of the tummy tuck is available if you call my clinic. Q. My silicon implants are now 14 years old and I have capsular contracture to a certain degree. I recently learned that I was implanted with inferior quality implants and although I have no symptoms, I am presuming that by now they will both be ruptured. Would their removal (without replacement) be more expensive if they have ruptured ? I am 54 years old.
A. Thank you for your email. Please do not presume that they are ruptured without evidence. If you are symptom free, then you do not require any removal and or replacement. I advise you that your breasts should be examined by a qualified plastic surgeon atleast once in a year. The removal of implants cost £2200 as a day case procedure. Removal and replacement costs £4200. Q. If I decided to have my breast implants removed is it likely that my breasts will sag. I have had them for 12 years and at 44 dont feel I need them anymore. Regards
A. Hello there Thank you for your enquiry. The appearance of your breasts following breast implant removal will vary depending on the original appearance of your breasts, your skin quality and what size implants you had originally. Many ladies decide to replace their implants for the same or bigger, some replace with a smaller implant + mastopexy, some just remove the implants and have a mastopexy alone and some just leave the breasts alone au naturale. As you say, when the implants are removed your breast will be emptier and this can be associated with sagginess. Q. Ive been read alot of negative feedback sometime ago on some PS forums regarding PIP implants regarding early rupturing. I had a breast augmentation in July 2008 and the implants used were 390cc PIP implants. Although mine are fine at the moment is there a serious chance of these rupturing? Have you had any experience with PIP implants.
A. Thank you for your email.I am glad that you do not seems to have issues with implant rupture. I have following suggestions for you:1) You should contact your surgeon for regular examination of your breasts anyway for rupture, malpositioning and capsular contracture. Your surgeon should update you if any further action needs to be taken in regards to PIP implants.2)You should surf through MHRA web site of the department of health for the update. Q. Im enquiring about the life span about breast implants for breast augmentation. How long can I expect the implants to last after having surgery before they will require replacing and does this vary with the type of implant used? What type of implants do you use in your surgey please?
A. Hi there. I usually use one of two breast implants – Nagor Impleo or Natrelle Inspira. If I’m using teardrop shaped implants I use Natrelle ones. Implants can last a lifetime, but sometimes they need replacing. These implants don’t need replacing unless there’s something wrong. Hope that helps

Q. I am thinking of having my implant removed. I had my first implants 15 years ago, they were 450cc saline implants. Twenty months ago went in for a revision. Had the saline implants removed and had new 500cc mentor smooth implants put in. Since then have had pain and probably some incapsulation. I am definitley not happy with them and im seriously considering having them removed. What should I expect and will I more than likely have to have a lift?
A. Hi there. I’ve removed implants in a few women and have not replaced them, but also in some women I have reinserted implants at some other stage. So, everyone is different. I think you do have a few options, though, and they include removal only, removal and uplift at the same time, removal and uplift at a later stage, removal and insertion of a smaller implant (with or without an uplift, either at the same time or at a later stage).
