Q. hi i would like to know would you be able to remove a chin dimple . and how much would it cost thank you

A. Thank you for your email. It is possible to reduce the chin dimple by either fat graft or dermal fillers. It may require more than one stage to achieve desired result. I have following suggestions to help you further: 1) Please send me good quality photos for  my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com including the photo gallery  to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. Please contact my office on 0208 997 3976 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm or by ehmail on info@vadodariaplasticsurgery.com for further guidance. I have had a 5mm Medpor chin implant put in place

Q. I have had a 5mm Medpor chin implant put in place 9 days ago. At this stage, the implant has given me a god profile balance. From the front view, the implant is quite squareand I can see and feel protrusion at the edges of the implant. It is not flush with my jaw bone.It is subtle but noticeable. Is this normal? Will this subside/change during recovery? If not, I would likely have a second procedure done to smooth implant to jaw bone. Is that possible? I know I am early post op, but in your experience is what I am describing normal? Many thanks.

A. Thank you for your email. If you feel that the implant edge does not blend with the jaw bone then it can be trimmed or replaced with suitable shaped chin implant. I have following suggestions to help you further: 1) Please send me good quality photos for  my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com  to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. Filed under: Chin Surgery,Expert Answers — Tags: — admin @ 12:40 pm

Q. Hi, i recently had a chin implant placed, however i still feel like my chin is short in length. my plastic surgeon said a sliding genioplasty would make my face too long, however i actually have a short face (7 inches) and i think a little length would balance my face out better. should i get a second opinion. i just really wanted to stay with my original surgeon, should i ask him about it again? thanks!!

A. Thank you for your email. It is prudent to ask your surgeon about your concerns regarding your facial height and chin position. With best wishes,

Q. I have a question about the medpor chin implant. I play rugby as a hobby and I’m wondering how easy would it be for the implant to be knocked out of place. I have read that tissue growth holds it in place using the small holes in the material, though how exactly? I.e how strong would this be? Is this what holds skin to the bone?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry about a possible chin implant and generally I would recommend that you do see a maxillo-facial surgeon who specializes in the bony structure of the face for this.   Most private hospital will have a specialist a maxillo-facial surgeon who could advice you as to the best option for you as if it may well be an implant or a bone operation with the bone of your chin.   I wish you the best of luck if you do decide to schedule a consultation.   Best wishes yours sincerely,   Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Q. hello, Im 15 ,16 this year and i have what people call a Bruce forsyth chin if you do not know who he is feel free to look him up on google images. I hate it and have done since a young age i just have one question which i would be very greatful if you would reply to me with an answer. i have wanted to get it removed for ages and im am defonatley sure i am going to have surgery as i have been considering it since i turned 14. i would just like to know how old i would have to be do have it done? i know most cosmetic surgerys are 18+ i was just wondering if i would possibly be able to get it done at 16? thankyou.

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it does sound as if you may benefit from surgery to your chin and I will suggest that you schedule an appointment with a maxillo-facial surgeon in your local private hospital.   Most of the facial surgeons specialize in the bony structure of the face and would be the ideal person to advice you as to the best treatment for you.   I do wish you the best of luck if you do decide to schedule a consultation.   Best wishes yours sincerely,   Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

I would like details of how many chin reduction procedure

Q. I would like details of how many chin reduction procedure you have done and price estimations. Can i see before and afters and do you do computer imaging and is that extra?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry about possible chin reduction surgery. Unfortunately, this is not a technique we specialize in at Aurora Clinics as surgery is normally performed by maxillo-facial rather than plastic surgeons.   Chin reduction surgery can be performed by reducing the size of the chin or on some occasions the jaw itself needs to be reduced.   To assess which of these approaches would be best for you I would advise you to schedule an appointment with a maxillo-facial surgeon in your local area so that they can x-ray the jaw area to account which option is best for you.   Thank you very much for your enquiry, I do wish you the best of luck if you do decide to go ahead with treatment.   Best wishes yours sincerely,   Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Hello doctor, I had a chin implant which got infected

Q. Hello doctor, I had a chin implant which got infected and had to be removed. Therefore I have a problem round my chin area which is saggy making my face all hang. Is there any surgery or non surgery that could fix my chin sagging and tighten or lift my chin to the way it was. Thankyou for your help.

A. hi  -  there is a non surgical solution for chin enlargement which involves fillers such as juvederm voluma or restylane subQ. Fillers can also become infected but it’s not very common. You should wait until all the scarring from your infection has resolved before you have any fillers or other treatments on your chin.

A. Thank you for your email. I can not advise you regarding how to check qualifications of a surgeon in Belgium.  It would be a good idea to seek some advice from your G.P for that.If you plan  get the operation done in Belgium then you should ask your surgeon the questions regarding the postoperative care.  With best wishes.
