Q. I am an asain and I have acne scarring/skin indentation scars from when I had severe acne at 20. I am now 43 and the scars are that much more visible. with my skin ageing now. Ihave trie skin peels, microdermabrasiona, dermaroller and I don’t believe thre is any difference tomy skin. I have been reading about CO 2 Laser treatment but it looks very aggressive. What would your advice be please?
A. Hi there. CO2 laser in Asian skin will often lead to excess pigmentation in the areas treated. This is called “post inflammatory hyperpigmentation” and takes about two years before we see how much it’s going to fade. Even then in Asian skin it doesn’t fade completely, usually. CO2 laser also leaves your skin red for a about 3 months or thereabouts, so the recovery is a lot longer. Having said that, it’s a very effective treatment for acne scarring – it’s just that it takes a long time to recover from the treatment and with Asian skin often there are permanent side effects that many people consider to be worse than the effects of the treatment.

Q. I had breast augmentation surgery almost a year ago and while my left breast is perfect the implant in my right breast has not dropped resulting in the rest of my breast sitting like a big flap against my body and looking extremely unnatural. My surgeon says it is because my right breast was larger to begin with but the implant simply has not dropped compared to the other and I feel like if it had it would lift my breast off my body. He suggested moving my nipple as a solution but I find this totally unacceptable as it would not solve the real problem. Is there any chance of the implant dropping further this long after the surgery? Are there any surgical or non surgical procedures I can have to correct this? I have lifetime cover following my surgery but don’t feel my current surgeon is giving me acceptable options to correct the problem. It is really getting me down and want it to be sorted soon.
A. Hi there. You probably have a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects in the implant rather than a lifetime warranty for free surgery, so please read any terms and conditions or small print you signed. If your surgeon has said he has a solution but you don’t want to go ahead with the solution then you can either get a second opinion from another surgeon or you can accept things the way they are. If you want a second opinion then you can either ask the surgeon to refer you to another surgeon or you can find your own surgeon for an opinion. If you research a surgeon and find one for an opinion, he may charge for the consultation. Good luck whatever you decide and let me know if you want more information

A. Currently the fee is £100 for a consultation, £2999 for round sliicone implants using Nagor Impleo implants. You need to buy a post-surgical bra too. A. Face-tite, from what I can see about it on the internet, is external radiofrequency treatment to the face. We have such a device at La Belle Forme called Indiba and we would be happy to deiver that treatment to you. If you have a particular aim in mind then you should have a consultation with me first, so that I can tell you what treatments would be best to achieve your aims. Sometimes the Indiba will be what I recommend and sometimes I will recommend something else – it all depends what you’re hoping to achieve and what you’re like to begin with, as I’m sure you can understand.
