Q. I have had various attempts to correct two ice pick scars on my leg using Dermabrasion but I dont think it has been particularly effective. What other options are there for treating these scars?
A. Dermabrasion only takes the top layer off. If it is an ice pick scar, the scar has to be released under the skin and then kept out with either a killer or microfatgrafting. LeRoux Fourie

Q. I want to have a facelift as there are areas of my face that are sagging considerably. I would also like my cheeks raised at the same time with implants and wanted to check if I could have both procedures due at the same time please?
A. The type of face lift I use raises the cheek bones as part of the face lift. I do not use cheek implants at the same time but use microfatgrafting using youir own fat. This gives a very natural result with far fewer complications that a foreign body cheek implat and can be tailored to also fill the cheek hollows and deep lines at the side of the nose and mouth.

Q. I would like to increase the size of my ankles as they are very skiny and look strange when I show my legs. Is there a procedure fior this?
A. Fat grafting might be an option but I have never done this in the ankle area. The skin around the ankle is very thin and might show the fat grafts through the skin.

Q. I want to lift and augment my buttocks so they sit higher and feel firmer. In you opinion what is the most effective way of getting as natural look as possible when having buttock surgery?
A. Thank you for your enquiry. The best natural result to lift and augment your buttocks is fat grafting. This requiry the harvesting of a large volume of fat from areas where you want to reduce fat or have excess fat. The alternatives are buttock lift either with Silhouette Lift or Surgery and buttock implants. What is safe and appropriate for you will need to be assessed and discussed at the time of your consultation. Please call Anne or Kirstie on 0845 009 2775 or email kirstie@lbps.co.uk who will be happy to arrange your consultation or provide further information.Best regards

Q. Mr Fourie. Can I have Rhinoplasty surgery as well as fat grafting for the lower eye lids at the same time.
A. I would probably not do it at the same time as the swelling from a rhinoplasty could affect the fat grafting process

Q. Just what procedures are part of a full face lift? I know eyelid surgery is often part of it, but what other procedures are typically done during a full face lift? How long is a patient typically “out” during surgery?
A. Thank you for your enquiry. A full facelift usually means ” Face Rejuvenation Surgery” – this typically involves a combination of procedures which include – Browlift, Upper and Lower eyelid surgery, Lower facelift and Neck lift. Some patients will require fat grafting to restore volume in the cheeks, chin and brow / temple areas. A skin peel may also be required to achieve a truly rejuvenated face. What is appropriate and safe for you can only be assessed at the time of your consultation. Please call Anne or Kirstie on 0845 009 2775 or email kirstie@lbps.co.uk who will be happy to arrange your consultation for you.Best regards

Q. I am undecided as to whether to have fillers or implants for my cheeks and wondered if there were situations where one may be the better option than the other. Im currently 44 years old and am in good health. Thank you
A. Thank you for your enquiry. My guide to which is the better option for you is how good your natural cheek bones are. If you have good cheek bones but have lost volume in the cheeks with aging, then fillers are the optimum treatment – Fat grafting would be very good also. However, if you have got flat cheek bones then cheek imlants would give the support for your cheeks. Please call Anne or Kirstie on 0845 009 2775 who will be happy to assist you.Best regards

Q. Hi Can you tell me if you can correct problems with my breast implants using a fat transfer. The size of my implant is very pleasing however you can see the outline of the implant and feel that they would be perfect is they were a little more rounded. Can you let me know if this is something that can be done and if so what costs could be Many Thanks
A. Rippling and a palpable edge of a breast implant has been verry difficult to treat. Using Microfat grafts (Coleman technique) the thickness of the sjin in the area of rippling is increased. The fat is harvested from the thights knees or tummy and is spun in a centrifuge to get pure compacted fat cells that are then carefully layered under the skin through tiny puncture marks. Any fat graft might have to be repeated as up to 30% of the fat might be reabsorbed. The procedure is done in our outpatient theatre under local anaesthesia and sedation. Recovery is 2 to 7 days. The cost is about £1000
