Im very interested in looking into hair transplants

Q. Im very interested in looking into hair transplants. Thats the procedure where you grow my own hair back. Could you provide more information about the procedure.

A. Over the past few years FUE or follicular hair transplant has emerged as the most advanced hair transplant procedure, the procedure involves taking single follicular grafts which contains the sebaceous glands as well as the nerve and blood tissue and transplanting this to an area that requires density.  the unit is taken from an area called the donor site which is at the back of your head and as this hair is not subject to hair loss once it is transplanted it will stay.  It is a pain free  procedure with minimal down time and no linear scaring.  Please have a look at my website www.cosmeticmedicalplus.com as there is a lot of information on the procedure there or please call the clinic and we can book a consultation for you.

Over the last year my hair has increasingly gone thinner and thinner

Q. Over the last year my hair has increasingly gone thinner and thinner. I would like toknow some details of treatments that may be available and what the costs are please.

A. Hi there, thanks for your query. Thinning hair is a process whereby the follicular units gradually miniaturize from 3 and 4 units to single unit hairs. The first thing  I would recommend is to halt the progression of miniaturisation by using minoxidil. Do pop in for a hair scan and we could recommend more treatments depending on the diagnosis- look up on www.cosmeticmedicalplus.com for more info.

A. Hi there, thanks for your query. The prices for a H+ technique start at £2500 – the technique is based on taking hair one by one from the back , meaning no linear scars or scalpels. We provide a written guarantee for the number of hair placed , meaning that all the hairs we place are guaranteed for life. Kindly look up on www.cosmeticmedicalplus.com on ways to contact us and make an appointment.

Have been thinking of having a hair graft due to heavy hair loss

Q. hi Doctor Have been thinking of having a hair graft due to heavy hair loss so i would like some info on prices and how it works. Is prices based on areas covered / hair transplanted? How do i know how much it is going to cost before i come and see you as if i cant afford it i don’t want to waste anyones time.

A. Hi there, thanks for your query. you are right in assuming that the cost of the surgery depends on the extent of your baldness. Prices generally start at £2500 . If you would like an estimate on the number of grafts you need and a guide price, kindly post your pics to drreddy@cosmeticmedicalplus.com and i shall get back to you .

My question is in regards to hair grafts

Q. My question is in regards to hair grafts. I have read that peices of scalp with hair are taken from the back of the scalp and then transplanted into the balding areas. Is it true that it can take up to one thousand graphs and transplants to gain a full head of hair? That sounds like a lot of graphs but if I am understanding correctly only as little as two peices of hair are transplanted at one time. Is this information correct?

A. Hi there, thanks for your query. There are mainly two types of hair restoration surgery- strip surgery and fue. In the strip surgery, a chunk of skin is taken from the back of the scalp and grafts divided into naturally occuring units. In the FUE surgery, grafts are taken one by one from the back of the scalp in naturally occuring units- the advantage is that you are left with no linear scars and you could have your hair very short without any noticeable scarring. I perform mainly the FUE technique – kindly look up on www.cosmeticmedicalplus.com for more information.
