Q. Hi, I was wondering which laser treatment would be best for diffuse redness and some broken capillaries on my cheeks,nose and chin from the flushing caused by rosacea? i have heard of vbeam and ipl. Also would they help with the flushing and burning associated with the rosacea?
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it may well be that you do have rosacea this medical condition is normally treated with dermatologist with antibiotics and other creams you put on your face. If you do not have rosacea it is possible to treat the reddened areas with IPL laser therapy but I think it would be sensible to have a consultation with a dermatologist first to exclude the possibility of rosacea and ideally have it treated appropriately. Your GP should be able to put you in contact with a suitable dermatologist in your area. Thank you for your enquiry, I do wish you the best of luck if you do decide to go ahead with treatment. A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, dark circles under the eyes are very difficult to treat unfortunately and there is no magic cure. You’re right that laser treatments is probably the next stage if creams do not work satisfactorily. I do not perform the laser treatments myself but I would recommend that you seek a consultation with a laser specialist and you’ll be able to find out information about them in the internet. Q. I am nearly 50 years old and have been very lucky with my body. However I am aware that my buttock area could do with tightening up – I have no excess fat and exercise alone has not improved the situation. The same applies to my tummy area. After 3 children and pinging back to my normal size, I now have a more crepey appearance in that zone and obviously elasticity is an issue. Q. My sister had done a Fraxel laser face peeling. 5 years ago though she had a melanoma which was treated sucessfuly and her ocnocologst said that the fraxel laswer is safe for her. But one doctor at the aethetic clinic refused to do her a frazel, cause she said its a big contraindication cause she has had melanoma case. Could you please advise who is right? thank you.
A. Thanks very much for your enquiry, generally I would not recommend Fraxel laser therapy in an area that your sister has had a melanoma. Generally, it’s best to avoid this form of treatment as melanoma is very serious although it’s unlikely it will have any influence on the melanoma it is best to avoid this very small risk. Q. I had Laser Skin Resurfacing on my face 2 years ago. It has left me with terrible white scars on my cheeks that makeup will not cover. I have tried silicone gels, Bio Oil etc. but nothing seems to improve the colour of the scars. I have been told that Dry Needling is good for improving the pigmentation and flattening the scarring. Can you tell me if this is true? If not can you suggest any other treatment (not laser) that could improve the colouring of the scars? Kind regards
