Q. I had a macs face lift three yrs ago is it possible to just tighten the skin without a full face lift as i have loose skin at the side of my face
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it is possible to have a further mini-facelift following a MACS lift. It will be worthwhile having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk which has lots of information about some possible treatment which are available. If you feel you would like to schedule a free consultation to discuss the best way forward for you please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362 or emailing us at infoaurora-clinics.co.uk. Q. I have noticed that the lines that run from the sides of my nose to my mouth are becoming deeper. This area seems to be the only area of my face I would like to improve and I would like details or information about treatment and if possible view some before and after photos of other people that have had treatment? Many Thanks
A. You can concider filling and plumping up the nasolabial lines with a filler such as Juvederm . Another option is Coleman Fat filling. Juvederm is cheaper but only lasts a year. Fat filling is more permanent but costs more.Depending on your age and the depth of the lines you might be a candidate fot a mini ot MACS face lift with or without fat filling. So, there are many options. See an accredited BAAPS plastic surgeon for an opinion (www.baaps.org) before you embark on any treatment plan.I regret that because of copyright and confedentialegy I cannot send you photographs.Yours sincereyLeRoux Fourie

Q. I am looking at having a facelift surgery, but want to have none invasive treatments. Could you tell me about the options for a non surgical facelifts as well as the cost and recovery time.
A. Non invasive face lifts imply no incisions. If you have saggy skin and jowls, non invasive techniques are not effective as the SMA|S layer and skin have to be repositioned using incisions in front of the ear. I do not have any experience using sillhoette sutures but, having seen the technique demosntrated in San Fransisco, remain to be convinced. I am aware that the London Bridge Clinic offers this service and would advise you to contact them.I personally beleive that a short scar mini face lift (about £2000) or a MACS face lift (about £4000) will give better and longer lasting results. The recovery time is 2 to 3 weeks.LeRoux Fourie

Q. I would like to get a face lift for my sagging jowls and loose neck. Im 51 years old 5’5 160 llbs. When I was 45 I had my upper/lower eyelids worked on and although things looked much better, within the next 6 years the look of my eyes became very hollow and sunken looking. Last Feb I had botox to treat the eyes and an injection of Radiesse for some marionette lines. As you can see I am not new to plastic surgery but I dont want to have too much done, I just want my jowels gone. Thanks for the help
A. I use the MACS face lift to treat the midface and jowl. Sometimes this is combined with microfatgrafting to the cheeks and nasolabial and marionette lines. The recovery is 2 to 3 weeks. The MACS is a short scar technique that is usually done under local anaesthesia. It also lifts the cheek area and reduces the hollow under the eyes. Prices are about £4000.I hope this is of help. You are welcome to arrange a no obligation consultation (01133882193)RegardsLeRoux Fourie

Q. And quite confused over which surgery may be the best solution sagging areas of my face. The areas in question are around my cheeks and mouth I have had filler treatments before and these were very effective but are obviously not a permanent solution. I am not particularly happy with my brow either and feel that I would be best to have my entire facial area listed at the same time. Is it normal to have a facelift and a brow lift at the same time and would it improve the results overall. Many thanks in advance for your response
A. I would think that an endoscopic brow lift and a MACS face lift would give you a natural rejuvenation. It might have to be combined with microfatgrafts to the cheecks and mouth folds. The procedures can be combined and can be done under local or general anaesthetic. The recovery time is about 3 weeks. The cost will vary from clinic to clinic but should be about £5000 to £6000RegardsLeRoux Fourie FRCSwww.lerouxfourie.co.uk

Q. Can you do a MACS lift and a lower bleph at the same time using local & sedation? Ive read that you use dissolving thread for the macs lift does that mean once the thread has dissolved the face will drop again?
A. I routinely do MACS and blepharoplasties at the same time under local anaesthetic and sedation.I have found no difference in the long term results using a long time dissolving suture as the face will have fixed in position within 3 weeks. I have found a marked reduction in deep suture abcess formation since swithing to dissolving suspension sutures in 2005.RegardsLeRoux Fouriewww.lerouxfourie.co.uk

Q. I have high cheek bones and have a good figure. At 48 my skin is still in excellent condition but I am starting to get jowels and sunken cheeks. What do you think would be the best treatment at this time? I though fillers may help for the short period or a facelift to have a permanent solution?
A. Thank you for your question. Fillers will not address the jowl and you would need a large volume of fillers to get rid of sunken cheeks.I would probably suggest a mini or MACS face lift with some fat filling to the cheecks and mouth area. But remember this is advice without seeing you and evaluating your facial structure and skin.I do the procedure under local anaesthetic and sedation and it can be done as a day cace. The cost varies fron £2995 to $4450 depending on the extent of surgery and time spent in theatre.I hope this is of helpRegardsLeRoux Fouriewww.lerouxfourie.co.uk

Q. Im writing to find out what kind of facelift procedures you offer at your clinic in Northampton. I’ve been looking at the MACS facelift and wondered if this is superior to a normal facelift or is it used to target a specific area of the face?
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, you are right there are a number of different types of facelift type of procedure and the best one for you really depends on which area bothered you most. As a general guide, a MACS lift is best suited to people from the age of 45-55 where the motivation of facelift which extends the scar behind the ear is more suitable for people over 55. This is a general guidance only and obviously this does depend according to your facial structure. The best thing to do I think would be to come in to see one of our specialists surgeons in clinic to discuss the best way forward for you. You could schedule a consultation by ringing us on 01844-214362 and we’ll be delighted to discuss the best way forward for you at that stage. Many thanks for your enquiry, we do look forward to meeting you in the near future. Best Wishes, Yours sincerely Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, Aurora Clinics

Q. I suffer from furrowed lines above my eyes on my brow and although I have been offer Botox to get rid of the lines im looking for something that can give me a more permanent solution. Id like to hear nmore about brow lift and face lifts and which may be the best way forward for me. Is there a massive difference in costs and recovery times between the 2 surgeries?
A. Thank you for your enquiry.A brow lift reduces the frown between the brows and is permanent although you will still have expression in the area.It can be done under a local anaesthesia and sedation. Small cuts are made in the hairline and the brows are lighty elevated. The recovery time is 2 to 3 weeks.A face lift does not address the brows but the cheeks and jowl area only. It can be combined with a brow lift and can be done under general or local anaesthesia. Recovery for a MACS type midi face lift is about 3 weeks. The cost for a brow lift is £2900 and a MACS face lift £4045 if done seperately. Combined the cost is £5905.If you wish to arrange a consultation please phone Christine 01977664258 or Lisa 01133882193RegardsLeRoux Fouriewww.lerouxfourie.co.uk

Q. Will a lower facelift help the sleep lines on my face? Mine are kind of vertical and im looking at which procedure will be most effective on these lines as well as lifting the areas of my face.
A. A MACS face lift with the addition of Microfatgrafts at the same time should address your concerns. I di this under local anaesthetic and sedation. The cost is in the region of £4000. But without seeing you, no plastic surgeon would be able to give you an adequite assessment. To arrange an appointment please phone Lisa 01133882193RegardsLeRoux Fourie www.lerouxfourie.co.uk
