A. hi there Thank you for your email Liposuction is not commonly (or usually) used for primary breast reduction but is sometimes used for minor symmetry correction. Q. hello,  I had gynecastamia surgery back in june 2010 but the surgeon left to much in, he then re operated to remove the remaining glandular tissue a month or so ago but it still feels and shows lumps behind my nipples. i long for a nice flat chest where my nipples lay flat and to see the natural shape of my pecs. i have an athletic build and there isn’t much fat on me so i just wondered whether these result i wish for are possible. can all the glandular tissue be removed so it lays flat on the muscle instead of feeling a slug shaped lump behind the nipple? any advice or diagrams would be massively appreciated. i would just like to add that the surgeon is very highly respected in his field so i didn’t go to some cowboy practice. many thanks.

Q. Are there any indications of average costs for male breast reduction surgery? Also how are they removed liposuction etc? What is recovery time?

A. Hi there. If you just need liposuction (and that’s the case for most men) then the average cost is just under £3000. If you need excision as well then I need to do this in a hospital and the costs rise. In terms of recovery, you can go back to your normal light activities a few days later and back to exercises at around 4 weeks. You need to wear a compression garment for 6 weeks. Q. I am 34 year old male and have had gastric band fitted and lost 12 stone however i have been left with lots of loose hanging skin which i did expect however i did not expect to have so much on my chest. Q. Please can you share your expert views and opinions on normal gynecomastia operations and the newer VASER techniques? Everything I read points me to the more modern technique however if this is the case why is traditional liposuction still used? How can I check if a Surgeon or clinic has proven successful experience in this field? Lastly is there an operation to reduce the size of the male nipple?

Any form of conventional liposuction can be used for correction of gynacomastia and if performed by an experienced plastic surgeon , it can provide satisfactory outcome. There are more than one new techniques used for liposuction. Selection of technique is a matter of surgeon’s choice. The best thing for you to have more than one surgeon’s opinion by having an initial consultation. You should check surgeon’s qualification.
