Q. How old do you have to be to have a third nipple removed? I’m 15 at the moment

A. If you have your parents concent, the surgery can be done now. It can be done under local anaesthetic. There will be a small scar but stitches should be dissolving under the skin

Q. My nipples are very dark sit very low on my breast and very nearly point towards the floor. Although my breast are rather saggy they look fine when I wear the correct bra and I see no need for any surgery but feel if my nipples were moved slightly upwards they would improve the appearance greatly. Please could you tell me about the possible procedures available for this kind of problem as well as there approximate costs?

Q. I am sixteen years of age and would like to have my nipples treated as they point upwards and look very strange. I realise that I would need some kind of permission from my parent/GP before you could see and surgery is really the last resort for me. Is this likely to get better as I develop? I am totally happy with the size and look of my breast themselves it just the nipples that are a problem. Im sorry if I sound a little desperate but im very embarrased about the whole thing and its stopping me going to see my GP. I just wanted the view of a woman fisrt.

A. it’s difficult to say whether nipple sensation will return or not and how long it will take in you. However, when nerves are injured, then often we have to wait a while for the feeling to return. In some cases it can take a couple of years for all that’s going to return to come back
