Q. hi, i have a few black marks/scars on my face left behind from spots, i was thinks about having the chemical peel would it work to remove the marks.
A. whether a chemical peel would remove your hyperpigmentation depends on the colour of your skin and how your skin normally reacts to irritants. If you always create dark marks when your skin is being irritated then it may make things worse, but if you have relatively lighter skin and you look after it during the healing process, it can improve patches of pigmentation relatively well. Q. Hi, i am a 39 year old male and have freckles on my upper arms. I was wondering if chemical peel would enable me to get rid of these freckles. I have tried vitamin A creams in the past but the sun spots always return when i stop using the cream. Is a deep peel a more permanant method of removing sun damage? Could you let me know if this procedure would benefit me and how much it would cost. Regards Joe
A. Hi Joe I’m afraid I couldn’t say whether a chemical peel would get rid of your freckles or not without seeing you. Chemical peels are good for light areas of sun damage and I can show you pictures of people where there have been improvements. We also have to limit the amount of skin that we put a chemical peel on to, and the whole upper arms are too large an area for us to treat. So, it may help, but I would have to see you first. Q.
