Q. I would like my lips to be fuller and plumper but I am worried that it will be drastically noticable I have treatment. How long do the effects generally last?

Q. I was wondering if you could help me out! I had dermal filler put in my lips 2 weeks ago and they have absolutely ruined them i look like a duck im so so depressed this is not due to swelling either i feel suicidal its that bad. im a singer so always have to show my face and the past 2 weeks ive just locked myself away in my room. is there any way you can remove the filler for me and whats the cost? many thanks and please let me know. carrie

A. Dear Carrie, Thank you very much for you enquiry, I’m sorry you’re disappointed with the results of your treatment. Following dermal filler treatment to the lips there is some swelling which may take up to a month to settle down. It is likely there is some residue swelling left in your lips which will settle over time. However, it is possible to dissolve the dermal fillers with an injection called hyalase. This works to dissolve the dermal filler and make it absorbed quickly. This will take you back to the appearance of your lips before you’ve had the dermal filler treatment. I suggest you seek for further consultation with the practitioner who performed the treatment and discuss your concerns with them. If appropriate they should be able to dissolve the dermal filler for you. I wish you the best of luck if you do decide to proceed with this treatment. Q. I would like more information on the permalip procedure please as I understand you carry out the procedure. I have had lip fillers before but am keen to have something more permanent. I am nearest to London. I look forward to hearing more from you.

A. Q. Im am trying to find out about permanent lip augmentation treatments currently available.

A. Lip eversion techniques making a zigzag cut inside the lip evers the lip making it look bigger. This does leave a faint scar inside the lip and leaves the lip with altered sensation for a few weeks.I personally do microfatgrafting to the lip. The fat is put inside the lip muscle and is permanent but, since we tend to undercorrect initially (easier to add fat than to take away) a top up might be needed after a few weeks to 3 months. The fat is harvested from the inside knee unde local anaesthetic. The lips are swollen fot about 7 days.The cost is about £1000

Q. I am writing to you about Permalip implants for lip augmentation. I know the procedure is permanent but can you tell me how long is it expected that I would need to revisit to have the implants replaced?

Q. I would like know if you offer dermal filler treatments and which brands that you provide. I have been researching filler treatmnets and have become quite confused with the amount of fillers you can have. I want to remove smile lines around my mouth.

A. I only use one type and that is Juvederm. I have found these to give the best results with few side effects . Juvederm Ultra 2 or 3 should be the best type for lip lines.

Q. I recently spoke to a firend that had dermal filler treatments to her lips. After treatment she started to get small bumps which would eventually disappear after a few days. Im am considering having a procedure to improve my lips but wanted to know what causes the bumps she had and will the same happen to me? From Angelica

A. It depends on the filler. Small bumps can be caused by areas of bleeding in the lips that take a few days to settle.
