Q. I would like my nostrils made smaller but scar badly. Is there anyway this can be done without visible scarring?

Q. Hi, I am a 30 year old white male from the UK and I had a rhinoplasty performed back in 2005. My nose was a little crooked so it was straightened so I could breathe better. At the same time the bump on my nose was removed. After some careful consideration and thought I would like a bump put back in my nose. I realise now that there was nothing wrong with the appearance of my nose and I regret having the bump removed. I had a strong and masculine nose in profile view. Although my request is unusual I feel it is no less important a request then if I wanted a more traditional rhinoplasty. I have been doing some research and I have found out that the bridge of the nose can be built up using either rib / ear cartlidge or a Medpor / silicone implant which is inserted into the nose and placed in a tight pocket under the skin and on top of the bridge. It is usually a procedure carried out on the nose of a person who is of African / Asian origin as they can sometimes have a flat nose and they would like to build up the bridge of their nose to give it more definition. I have quite a long nose with which I am happy with but because the bump was removed it makes my nose look like a ski slope! I am persuing a career in acting and my looks are important to me and I would like to address the appearance of my nose. I am a healthy man and feel I would be a suitable candidate for this surgery. I am aware I cannot not have the exact same look of my old nose back so I am looking for a nose which is similar in shape to my old nose. Can you please advise me of the cost involved and whether you would be able to perform this surgery or if not can you advise me on a surgeon in the UK who can perform this surgery? I have seen many before and after photos of people from the UK who have had jaw, cheek and / or chin implants surgery carried out in the UK and I feel a nose implant is in a similar vein to that kind of cosmetic facial enhancement surgery. Q. Hi, I underwent rhinoplasty in 2006 where as well as having the bridge of my nose straightened, I had the tip narrowed. I now feel that the result doesn’t entirely suit my face anf that the proportions of my nose look a bit wrong. Is is possible to return the tip of my nose, at least partially to its original size and shape? What are the limitations of such a proceedure? Q. Hello Dr Paul Banwell. In September 2010 I had a rhinoplasty procedure through Transform in London. I had the bridge of my nose broken inwards to make it narrower. I also had the bump removed from the bridge. I had my nostrols slit and stitched to make them smaller. The tip was made smaller too and was nice and stiff after the op, but now seems to have grown back! It is round and bulbous and has lots of excess gristle stuff in it which I want gone again. Please help! Thank you.
