Q. hi there i have a scar on my upper lip from accident when i was a child, iam now 25 and is knocking my confidence back. i feel people are starring at my scar rather than my face. i have tried different creams but nothing is helping. i want the scar to be less visable if cannot be removed permanently please. can you please give me help what i can do
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it certainly sounds as if it would be possible to improve the appearance of the scar on your upper lip and this is normally done by further surgery or other treatments such as dermafillers or skin peels. I think it would be best to either see a picture of the scar or see in person to discuss the best way forward for you and this can be arrange by ringing us on 01844-21362 or emailing us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. Many thanks for your enquiry, we do look forward to meeting you in the near future. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Q. i have lots of scars on my both lower legs i have black skin and the scars are very visible because of my skin type is there any thing you can do to help? i have then 6times laser treatments but it didn’t help
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry about the scars on your legs, it is difficult to remove them completely with a laser therapy and this infact may make them slightly darker. I think it would be best if you could send us a photo of the scars to infoaurora-clinics.co.uk we’ll be absolutely delighted to give you an opinion as to the best way forward for you. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

A. Thank you very much for your question, if your kelloid is causing you concern the best option for it is probably to have a course of steroid injections which help flatten it. It would be useful if you could send us a photo of the kelloid to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk we’ll be actually delighted to discuss the possible treatments for it. If you feel you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Q. I have a few round white scars on my chest area and and a fairly thin oval one on my kneck. I always feel the need to cover up and find the problem very depressing. I was wondering if scar excision would help for this kind of scar and what the costs typically are for this type of scarring.
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it does sounds as if the treatment for the area you described may be beneficial and this may comprise of a medical grade tattooing which effectively fills out the lost pigment from your scar areas. Although, we do not perform this treatments ourselves at Aurora Clinics we do have a number of contact to specialize this form of treatment we’ll be delighted to pass on the details if you email us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. Q. Hello, 5 years ago I had a fatty lump removed from my forehead which resulted in a horizontal scar less than 2cm’s wide; the scar is located about halfway between my hair line and eyebrow roughly in the middle of my forehead; I don’t mind the scar because it looks like one of the lines I have, but what I don’t like is how my skin bunches up below the scar when I wrinkle my forehead- it looks like a bump; at first I thought this was loose skin, but I had a consultation with a plastic surgeon last week and he said its not loose skin because when I don’t frown the skin is flat. Apparently the operation has altered the way my muscle contracts around the scar which causes it to contract differently which in turn makes the skin bunch up like a bump when I wrinkle; the doctor said there wasn’t much he could do apart from botox which I suppose would stop me from being able to wrinkle my head in this spot- but I am not satisfied with this because this is only temporary- is there anything you could suggest? I am looking to learn all I can to solve this, and would really appreciate your help. Thank you James
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it does sounds as if either scar revision or botox treatment maybe appropriate for you but it would really be best to see you in person or certainly your scar in a photograph to assess the best treatment for you. You can send a photo of the area to info@aurora-clinics.co.uk and if you would like to schedule a consultation please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Q. There is two keliods scar on my right leg, I would like to have cryotherapy treatment
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not normally treat kelloids with cryotherapy as this can make them more worst rather than better. We generally recommend steroid courses initially followed by a more aggressive treatment if they do not resolve. If you feel you would like to schedule a consultation with us to discuss the best way for you please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Q. I WANT TO SEE SOME ONE A BOUT MY KELODS SCAR
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not perform surgery for kelloids at Aurora Clinics but I know a number of clinics in the United Kingdom do specialize in this but I think it would be worthwhile scheduling a consultation with a specialist to discuss the best of treating your kelloids. We do wish you the best of luck if you do decide to go proceed with the consultation and possibly surgery. Q. Hello, I am unfortunately a previous self harmer and have some unslighly scarring to my outer right thigh/ buttock. I have not self harmed for almost ten years and the sight is a constant reminder not to mention insecurity surrounding it. I have multiple scars some of which have been repeatedly opened. I was wondering if there is any form of surgery that could make it less known what they are from. I understand that you cannot remove scarring completely and I accept this, I would feel more comfortable just for sight of them to be less familiar of that of a self harmer. Thank you
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it does sounds as if there maybe some surgical procedures which may help your scars but I think you really do need to see a plastic surgeon who can assess the area and discuss the risks of kelloid scarring fully with you. Generally, surgeons would like at least one year after an injury for the scars to settle before they consider a need for further surgery. I wish you the best of luck if you do decide to go ahead with scheduling a consultation. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics
