Q. I have suffered from rosacea for a number of years and have been subscibed various creams and antibiotics, none of which has unfortunately worked. I am looking at returning to see a dermatologist and am wondering what type of treatment would be most beneficial given that creams and antibiotics have not worked. I have read about various laser treatments. Would you recommend this option. The rosacea is permanent with red pimples evident over my cheeks, chin and forehead.
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry about your rosacea. You’re right I think it would be sensible to schedule a consultation with a dermatologist to discuss the best way forward for you. Dermatologist will be able to assess your skin type and may well be out to recommend laser therapy for you. I wish you the best of luck if you do decide to go ahead with treatment. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Q. Hi there, Could you tell me which implant would be best for me, allergan or polyurethane? I have had 4 previous capsule contracture in my left breast. at the moment i have a high cohesive gel prefilled implant. i have been advised that allergan or polyurethane implants would be the best to help reduce me having another capsular contracture. I would be grateful of any help you could give me. Thank you.
A. Hi there Yes I agree with you> my preference would be an Allergan implant. It sounds as though you have been quite unlucky. When was your first operation and when was your last? Please do contact the office on 0845 2600 261 or help@paulebanwell.com I look forward to meeting you Paul Banwell www.paulebanwell.com

Q. I have quite bad skin pigmentation and wanted to know what would be a good treatment? I have heard skin / chemical peels can help but is very confusing as their are so many options?
A. Hi there. We have many treatments for skin pigmentation and it depends what the cause of the pigmentation is and what type of skin you have. We put these things together and discuss your treatment options and come up with a treatment plan for you. You’re right in that it can be confusing, but we don’t expect you to know what’s best for you – that’s where our knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications come into play to put all the options together.

Q. Is there any good products i can get/buy for spots on my face and back. i dont have acne and i can cover it up with foundation but i’m only 13 and i hate having to wear makeup everyday. I’m really self concious without foundation because i hate my skin so much! what products can i get to help get rid of the spots and keep them away? and also what face wash routines should i try? I dont even wear vest tops anymore now because i have a few spots over my shoulders and upper back. they’re really sore and i need to get rid of them. Are there any home treatments for these that arn’t too expensive? thanks.
A. Hi there. If your spots are getting bad then you’re best to see your GP to ask about them. Also, you can ask the pharmacist and they can advise. I’m not sure about prices, but a good pharmacy will advise you on different prices

Q. Is there something you could suggest to treat sun damaged skin. The sun seems to highlight all my facial impurities and I would rather not stop going aboard as I love my time off. I already apply a high factor sunscreen and I always have but was thinking I could also apply some treatment in the morning and evenings that will help. Do you offer any kind of in home treatments that are more effective than the ones available on the high street?
A. Hi there. We have some great treatments for sun damaged skin and what you can get depends on the down time you’re willing to put up with, the extent of the improvement you want and your budget. You can arrange to see Jacqui, my beauty therapist if you want, Amanda, my laser specialist, Fiona, my nurse, or me, if you would like a formal consultation. I’m having an open evening on Wednesday 24th November and you can come and see all of us, as we’re all going to be there on that day. We can discuss creams, skin care regimes, facials, chemical peels, laser treatments and so on.
