I have lots of freckles that I cover up from the moment I wake up

Q. I have lots of freckles that I cover up from the moment I wake up and I can’t bring my self to wipe my make up off at night I really hate them with a passion and it really does affect my life on so many different levels no one will understand. I can’t see how my freckles could me removed and if they can what kind if price range am I lookin at Thankyou and kind regards for getting back to me.

A. hi there. getting rid of freckles is impossible, unfortunately, however you can use a number of different make up options which I know you’re already using but it may be the best answer for you. If they’re not freckles and are actually areas of sun damage then we can do things like chemical peels or laser treatments, but just for freckles we wouldn’t want to do any surgery or non surgical treatments, I’m afraid

I have since lost 50lbs which has been great but I have noticed elasticity of my skin is not as good as it used to be

Q. Im a 39-year-old female who works out three times a week and has a healthy diet quite overweight around four years ago and have since lost 50lbs which has been great but I have noticed elasticity of my skin is not as good as it used to be. This is caused wrinkles along my forearms I have never had before and I would like to have this treated non-surgically if possible. What could be causing this?

A. Loss of weight can lead to small wrinkles of the arms as arm skin is not as elastic as other parts of the body. I have no experience of Fraxel but you can ask a practitioner who uses it for their advice.Moisturising with something like Bio Oil might help

Can you do anything to get rid of fordyce spots condition on the skin of the penis?

Q. Hello, Can you do anything to get rid of fordyce spots condition on the skin of the penis? im in my 10th year of destress from this condition and its effecting me a lot.  sell a product that doesnt work for me, neither does jojoba oil or tea tree. Iv read some articles on possible co2 laser treatment. I havnt confused my condition with anything else as im 100% sure and iv been tested for sti’s thanks

A. These spots are sebaceous gland hyperplasia and can be treated with spot laser or monopolar diathermy . The diathermy vapourises the sebum but can leave a very small white scar. It is in effect a small burn and post treatment is usually treated with Flammazine dressings for a few days. A penis local anaesthetic block with numb the area for a few hours.Cost will vcary from clinic to clinic. I would expect the cost to be about £500RegardsLeRoux Fourie FRCSwww.lerouxfourie.co.uk

Im 16 years old and wonderd at what age can i have plastic surgery?

Q. Hello, Im 16 years old and wonderd at what age can i have plastic surgery? i want my nose to be straight as it is wonky and i want the freckles removed off my cheek. You seem like the best man for the job.

A. Thank you for your enquiry and your kind comments. I normally consider rhinoplasty surgery after the age of 18, when the overall facial proportions have reached a more stable period.  With regards the freckles, you should consider using sunblock on a regular basis attenuates the damage to the skin and visibility of the freckles without having to resort to more aggressive treatment.  Even if you do have treatment to reduce the visibility of the freckles, unprotected sun exposure is likely to bring them back possibly worse than they were before.

I would like to enhance the look of my skin and have been advised by my GP to stay away from any laser treatments

Q. I would like to enhance tio look of my skin and have been advised by my GP to stay away from any laser treatments as I am at high risk of hyperpigmentation. Are there any risks of hyperpigmentation with the chemical peel treatment in your experience? Thanks Val

A. Dear Val, Thank you very much for your enquiry, I think your GP is probably right to suggest that you may have a risk of hyperpigmentation with laser therapy. The maybe better option to perform light skin peels which achieves similar result for having much reduced risk of hyperpigmentation. I am 62 with pretty good skin im thinking of having dermaroller is it any good for lines above the lips

Q. Hi. I am 62 with pretty good skin im thinking of having dermaroller is it any good for lines above the lips which have had restylane filers for fine lines i iwant to try something other than fillers also is it any good for fine thread veins on face? Thank You

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry.  You are right that Derma-Roller is a very effective treatment to the fine lines on your upper lip. Derma-Roller works by multiple small needles passing through the skin which stimulates the skin to regenerate and thicken, reducing the lines. Regarding the thread veins on your face, these are normally best treated either with laser treatment or electrolysis. Both of these have been found to be very effective at reducing veins in the face area. You can find more information about these procedures on our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk, and you feel you would like to schedule a consultation with us, please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Can you please advise a good solution to fine lines on my face

Q. Can you please advise a good solution to fine lines on my face. I have tried allsorts of facial creams, oils etc but nothing seem to help at all. I drink pleantly of water everyday and gave up smoking years ago. This is all very frustrating to me as I expected the lines to improve after the changs I made. Are my only options left some kind of filler treatments?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry. The fine lines on your face can be caused by a number of different reasons, and it is very important to protect your face against sun exposure by applying a suitable sun block. Other treatments which can be used in this area to reduce the appearance of the lines include Derma-Roller therapy or the use of dermal fillers. I think it would be worthwhile having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk to get more information about these types of treatment. If you feel you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you, please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Many thanks for your enquiry. We do look forward to meeting you in person in the near future should you decide to schedule your free consultation. Can you tell me if there is a procedure out there to remove the appearence of stretch marks

Q. Can you tell me if there is a procedure out there to remove the appearence of stretch marks around the back of the legs my skin looks like orange peel and no amount of exercise or dieting is helping? Ive tried creams and oils but nothing works. Thank you

A. I would be able to retire if I could invent a technique that does whay you want. Stretch marks are very difficult and disappointting to treat and I have to tell you that in my opinion there is no satisfactory treatment. If you have cellulite, cerafull liposuction can improve this but the buttocks area is a difficult area to treat.RegardsLeRoux Fourie
