A. Tattoos can be removed with a course of laser treatment or by cutting it out and suturing it with dissilving stiches placed under the skin. I do not do tattoo by laser but you can contact Spire Hospital in Elland Halifax for more information and costs. If it is very small, excision will be up to £800 but might be less depending on the complexity of size and position. You can arrange to see me in Leeds on 01133882193 RegardsLeRoux Fourie

I have a tiny star tattooed on my left hand and have regretted it for months!

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Adrian Richards,Tattoo Removal — Tags: Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, remove your scar of your tattoo under local anesthetic, tiny star tattooed on my left hand — admin @ 9:27 am

Q. I have a tiny star tattooed on my left hand and have regretted it for months! how much will it cost to be removed?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it sounds like it would be possible to remove your scar of your tattoo under local anesthetic and the cost for this procedure would be approximately £ 400 but obviously this would depend on its size and location. Surgery is performed under local anesthetic and you could schedule this by ringing us on 01844-214362 or emailing us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. Many thanks for your enquiry, we do look forward to meeting you in the near future should you decide to schedule a consultation. Best Wishes, Yours sincerely Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, Aurora Clinics

I am seriously considering having a tattoo surgically excised

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Taimur Shoaib,Tattoo Removal — Tags: spaced apart by around 6-12 months so that your skin stretches, surgically remove a tattoo with one operation, tattoo surgically excised — admin @ 9:08 am

Q. Hi, I am seriously considering having a tattoo surgically excised. It is a black butterfly on the centre of my lower back about 2inches by 2inches wide (no larger). Would this be possible? I have had successful laser removal on 2 other tattoos however this tattoo was done by different artist who messed it up and has left me with some raised areas of skin. Kind regards.

A. Hi there. Sometimes I can surgically remove a tattoo with one operation and sometimes I need to do it with more than one operation, each spaced apart by around 6-12 months so that your skin stretches. This is called serial excision. It all depends on how much skin laxity you have, and if we’re pulling your skin really tight then you may get a scar that takes a long time to heal up. So, first I should have a consultation with you and we can discuss your options. If you want to have a consultation please could you call 01415520828 and that can be arranged.

I have a tattoo on my shoulder that is around 4″ by 4″ i really want it removing

Filed under: Expert Answers,Laser Treatments,Mr LeRoux Fourie,Tattoo Removal — Tags: laser tattoo removal as excision, tattoo on my shoulder — admin @ 10:12 am

Q. I have a tattoo on my shoulder that is around 4″ by 4″ i really want it removing I was wondering if you could give me an estimate on how much you think it would cost? Also is anesthetic used during the process.

A. I would suggest you consider laser removal as excision will leave you with a very noticible and visible scar. I do not do laser  so can’t give you an idea of cost

I have had a couple of laser treatments to remove a seven inch long two and a half inch wide tattoo and its really painful

Filed under: Expert Answers,Laser Treatments,Mr Chris Inglefield,Tattoo Removal — Tags: laser treatment, Laser Treatments, laser treatments to remove a seven inch long two and a half inch wide tattoo, remove a seven inch long two and a half inch wide tattoo, surgical treatment called excision, topical anaesthetic cream — admin @ 10:18 am

Q. I have had a couple of laser treatments to remove a seven inch long two and a half inch wide tattoo and its really painful should i have a surgical treatment called excision.

A. Thank you for your enquiry.  LASER treatments are the most effective way to remove most tattoos.  Surgical excision is a very effecient means but necessitates a long scar.  You should request that a topical anaesthetic cream is applied before the LASER treatment to make this a bit more comfortable.Hope that this helps.Best regards

I have a tattoo that has undergone previous laser treatment which has left de pigmentation and scarring

Filed under: Expert Answers,Laser Treatments,Mr Taimur Shoaib,Tattoo Removal — Tags: blend the remains of the tattoo, laser treatment, micropigmentation — admin @ 10:08 am

Q. I have a tattoo that has undergone previous laser treatment which has left de pigmentation and scarring would it be possible to have the remains removed by surgical excision,if so what are the likely costs?

A. you can have several options – you can get micropigmentation to blend the remains of the tattoo, you can get excision (either in one go or by a technique called serial excision) or you can get it removed and skin grafted. Your options are best discussed with me at a consultation so if you want to call 01415520828 we can talk about this and I can look at your tattoo remnants

I am very interested in having a 2 inch wide, 2 cm high tattoo removed from my left forearm

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Lucian Ion,Tattoo Removal — Tags: 2 cm high tattoo removed from my left forearm, 2 inch wide, local anaesthetic intervention, may be possible but it does depend on surrounding skin elasticity, tattoo removed from my left forearm — admin @ 6:35 am

Q. I am very interested in having a 2 inch wide, 2 cm high tattoo removed from my left forearm via tattoo excision. Please can you confirm how long the procedure would take, the healing time, and the cost? Kind Regards Sofi.

A. Thank you for your enquiry.   I have today I would properly only do this type of surgery if I can closed the defect directly. Based on the size that you describe, it may be possible but it does depend on surrounding skin elasticity.   I would need to see in consultation and evaluate whether this is possible, and if it is possible it is likely to be a local anaesthetic intervention, which typically carries lower costs.   If it can be closed primarily and requires a skin graft or local flap, it is a poor trade-off and I would prefer not to do the surgery.
