Q. Im 6 months post op from a buttock lift combined with a thigh lift. Im really happy with the work thats been done and look and feel great about the whole thing but I do have one issue. Sex now seem to be really painful and everything feels really tight downstairs. I have spoken to my surgeon who said this will get better with time and I respect and trust what he has told me but I just wanted to get another opinion. Q. What is the best way to lose loose skin after a large weight loss especially around the thighs and under arms?
A. Hi there. Generally speaking the best way of removing excess skin around the thighs and arms after massive weight loss is with an arm reduction and a thigh reduction. These operations take place with me at the Glasgow Nuffield Hospital and I see you for consultations at my clinic in the city centre prior to that. The recovery takes a few weeks and you’re usually in hospital for a few days after the surgery. Q. I am taking Remicade and methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis that I have had since childhood. I am 52 and have saggy inner thighs and butt from weight gain and loss after pregnancy. I am 5’8″ and 140 lbs and very self conscious about my body. Could I be considered for surgery in my medical condition?
