Q. Do you do feather or thread lifting
A. I do a variant of thread lifting using the new Quill style barbed sutures. I find these are better than the old thread lift sutures

Q. Do you do threadlifts?
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not perform thread lifts at Aurora Clinics. The reason for is that I did perform thread lift for sometime but found that many patients were unhappy with the results in that the rejuvenation did not last for as long as they had hoped. We tend to favor a short scar face lift technique with a MACS facelift. This has the advantages of very well concealed scarring and more better results in the long term in my opinion than a thread lift. The recovery time for a MACS lift and a thread lift are similar but we feel the results are superior with a MACS lift. If you’re interested in finding out more information about MACS lift please visit our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk where you’ll find lots of information about this procedure. If you feel you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss whether this treatment is appropriate for you please ring us on 01844-214362 or email us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. Many thanks for your enquiry; we look forward to meeting you in the near future should you decide to schedule your consultation. Best Wishes, Yours sincerely Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, Aurora Clinics

Q. I wanted to know your opinion on thread lifts. I have had a couple of sugeons who have given me there opinion and advised the procedure is not as long lasting as a more surgical lift, but at 51 with a sagging face and wrinkley neck have told me this could be the answer. Would you agree with this?
A. Thread lifts do not last as long as a conventional MACS or full face lift. At the resent ISAPS conference in San Francisco, we were told that thread and or silhoette lifts only last for about 18 months. If you have a sagging face and a wrinkly neck, a more conventional technique would give a longer lasting result but at the expence of scars and a longer recovery timeLeRoux Fourie

Q. Dear Mr. Richards, I am one of the maxillofacial sprs currently on the london rotation presently at UCH. I have an interest in facial plastics and currently perform non surgical treatments in the private sector when not fulfilling my NHS committment. Do you run any courses on the thread lift under Local. Is there any scope for trainees to observe/assist in the facial procedures ( even for a fee as it can be considered as a course for myself to progress with training ). I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Mr. Kassam
A. Dear Mr. Kassam, Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not run any courses at the moment on the thread lifts as I find this quite unpredictable procedure and for this reason I do not recommend it. I do run a course teaching non-surgical treatments called cosmeticcourses.co.uk and please have a look at the website to get more information about this. If you do attend a cosmetic course and would like to come along to see some surgical procedures it would certainly be possible to do so. Thank you for your enquiry and with best luck with the rest of your training. Best Wishes, Yours sincerely Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, Aurora Clinics

Q. I would like to know the cost of a tread lift for facilal improvement please and where in the UK you conduct surgery. Regards Jean
A. I do not do the traditional thread lifts as I found they do not work. I now am doing a modified thread lift with barbed sutures via a small incision in the temple. If needed I combine this with a “trampoline” neck lift. This is done as a day case under local anaesthetic. The cost for the Scarless Suspension Face lift is about £2500> If combined with a neck suspension the cost is about £4000.I work in Leeds (tel 01133882193) or near Wakefield (tel 01977664258)
