I am 34 year old male and have had gastric band fitted and lost 12 stone however i have been left with lots of loose hanging skin which i did expect however i did not expect to have so much on my chest. They look like a woman’s who have breast fed 5 kids. Can you remove all the skin that is on my chest and where would the scars go?

It’s certainly is possible to remove this skin of your chest but this would involve some scarring around the nipple and possibly in the lower part of your chest. A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not perform this surgery this is normally perform by a general surgeon rather than plastic surgeon. We do get to involve in a surgery but you have lose a weight removing the excess skin that can occur particularly around the tummy region. Q. I have lost 5.5st since April 2010. i have lots of saggy skin all round, i have been to see my GP 2 months ago and she has referred me to west Suffolk NHS. she said that i do fall in to the rapid weight loss criteria for the Op, i have had no news/letters. do you happen to know what the waiting time can be for my PCT? i am now 1lb away from “Normal” BMI and fully intend on staying there! A. Sorry -this varies from area to area. Most PCTs are now not funding such surgery so be prpared to fund this privately Cheerio PB

Q. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2004 which worked excellently but I now have ALOT of loose skin around my belly and I would like to have the skin removed. Its really frustrating because although I am now what I would call an acceptable sixe and weight I still sweat in the area which causes skin irritation. Would a trummy tuck be able to help my situation?
