Q. I am a female aged 54 and have recently started to suffer hair loss in various areas of my head. Im sure the majority of your clients are male and wanted to know if the hair transplant procedure works the same for woman as it does when done for men?
A. The procedure is the same for men and women, the main difference with women is that they can lose hair from all rather than following the male pattern or femal pattern in their case, we have carried out many successful procedures on women and each case is different. We have also recently started to work with some regenerative products which we could have a look at for you. My recommendation if to either come to the clinic or send me through some photo or skype consult so that I can see the areas in question and also see what do I think that is causing this. Please also have a thyroid check up, anaemia and also a hormone check up as many women loss hair during the menopause. We have also had some great success with laser hair therapy for women to increase the thickness of the existing hair but without seeing you it is difficult to know what to suggest.
