I dont know if Im a candidate for a mini face?

Q. I don’t know if I’m a candidate for a mini face lift as I am 59 years old. How do you know if you need a mini facelift or a full facelift? Is it down to your age? I do have very good skin and everyone says I don’t look my age, but I’ve notice my face has started to sag slightly around the mouth area.

A. Thank you for your enquiry. In essence the difference between a mini face lift and a full face lift is the scarring.  The scarring for a mini face lift lies in the temple in front of the ears whereas for a full face lift you have the scarring for a mini facelift but with a further scar in the fold into the hairline behind the ear.Generally, I recommend a mini face lift for people with descent of their jowl and cheek areas.  However, if your neck has become loose, especially in  the central area, you would be better suited to a full face lift.  This is because a full face lift lifts up the skin of the neck more effectively than a mini face lift.  Mini facelifts are generally performed on people in their forties and fifties. If you would like any more information please contact Cosmetic Surgery Consultants on 08707 606555.Kind regardsAdrian RichardsPlastic & Cosmetic Surgeon
