I had cohesive silicone implants in 2003 but they have gone very rippled
Q. I had cohesive silicone implants in 2003 but they have gone very rippled and I can notice it under the skin even when I just look at them. I wasnt aware that this would happen after such a short time?
A. Thank you for your inquiry. In situations when the breast tissue is very thin, rippling can be a problem early after surgery. A common cause is represented by capsular contracture, but rippling can happen even when the implant pocket is large. In some instances, the problem can be improved by transferring the implants below the pectoral muscle(if they are above), and possibly by adding a fat transfer procedure to build up the thickness of the breast tissue.
