I have cholesterol deposits under my left eye and above my right eye

Q. I have cholesterol deposits under my left eye and above my right eye, just below the brow area. These deposits are unsightly. They are thick, white and resemble scarring. Can these be removed with an in office laser procedure? If so, is the procedure painful? Also how long is the recovery period for such a procedure?

A. Thank you for your enquiry  These cholesterol deposits are called xanthomas and are most common on the eyelids. If you have not done so already I would suggest that you visit your GP to have your cholesterol checked. It is possible to remove these areas under Local Anaesthetic.  The procedure is not painful and the areas should be healed within a week.   If you would like to discuss the best time for an appointment and free consultation please call our Clinic on 01844 214362. I hope to see you soon at consultation  Kind regards, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon www.aurora-clinic.co.uk
