I suffer from back ache and get deep indentations on my shoulder from my bra straps
Q. I am a 46 year old mother of three. I have a bmi of around 28 and i’m 6 foot tall. As I have got older and put on weight, mostly on my breast and I hate it. I wear a 38f bra. I suffer from back ache and get deep indentations on my shoulder from my bra straps. I wanted to ask a few questions a, what size will they be after surgery and how much does it costs and finance. How long will I need to recover as looking after my children is my main job so will I be able to this after surgery?
A. Hi there. It’s difficult to predict exactly what size you would be after a breast reduction but most people ask for a size that’s around a certain cup size and I usually try and give people that size. However, I don’t guarantee cup sizes, because all bras are different from different manufacturers. Most people are in moderate discomfort for a week or so, and most women need to wear a post surgical bra for around 6 weeks during which time there will be dressings needed too. The commonest problem is a minor amount of the wound unzipping which takes place after a couple of weeks, and takes a couple of months to settle down.
