I would like some advice on treatments to lift most of my body and would the fact I have a weight loss surgery cause any issues?
Q. I had a gastric bypass about 2 years after being morbidly obease for a number of years. The surgey has been very effective but I have been left with a large number of areas that have a lot loose skin. I would like some advice on treatments to lift most of my body and would the fact I have a weight loss surgery cause any issues? Thank you very much for your help
A. Thank you for your enquiry. Firstly, very well done for losing the weight. What you describe is an increasingly frequent problem for many of our patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. The options for lifting are 1. Body lift. 2. Thigh lift 3. Lateral Chest and Arm lift. Following massive weight loss, your weight should be stable for at least a year before surgery. You will need to have a full blood screening to check that you are nutritionally good to heal following your surgery. What is appropriate and safe for you will need to be assessed at the tim eof your consultation. Please call Anne or Kirstie on 0845 009 2775 or email kirstie@lbps.co.uk who will be happy to arrange your consultation or provide further information.Best regards
