I would like to have the skin on my neck tightened
Q. I would like to have the skin on my neck tightened since the sagging skin is very unattractive but I was worried that the scar under my neck might show which might be as embarrassing as the sagging throat skin is as I see it or doesn’t the scar show where the skin was pulled up from. Please get back to me
A. Thank you for your enquiry. In the context of neck lift surgery, the extent of the scars depends on the amount of skin laxity that needs to be corrected. When the skin laxity is limited, and the neck lift takes place in order to create a more defined angle between the underside of the chin and the front of the neck, the scar is placed under the chin and measures approximately 3 cm. When the laxity is more significant apart from the scar under the chin there are some scars placed around the ears were the skin is tightened. It is possible to show you at the time of the consultation some photographs of surgical scars around the ears and under the chin to understand the degree of visibility.
