If I have breast reduction surgery can I get it covered by my health insurance

Q. If I have breast reduction surgery can I get it covered by my health insurance since it is a medically necessary surgery for me due to the increased pressure to my back caused by my over sized breasts that are making my day to day normal activities increasingly harder to perform? Please get back to me on what i should do next and can my GP help?

A. Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, as far as I know medical insurance companies do not cover breast reduction, you can discuss with your GP about having the procedure done through the NHS also.
