A. Thank you very much for your enquiry about the qualifications needed for a plastic surgeon. It is important to check whether the surgeon is registered by the General Medical Council and you’ll be able to do this by checking their website (http://www.gmc-uk.org/) . I think it would also be worthwhile seeing if they are listed on the BAAPS website (http://www.baaps.org.uk/ ). This has a list of fully all the set of the plastic surgeons and I think it would be sensible to check your surgeon is on the list.
