Is it advisable to have breast reduction surgery before or after having children?

Q. Is it advisable to have breast reduction surgery before or after having children? I have large breasts (32G) but have been advised its better to get the surgery done after breastfeeding due to this also causing sagging etc? Would the breast reduction surgery have any implications for my ability to breastfeed if I were to have the surgery now (pre pregnancy)? I am planning to have children in the near future. Would you advise surgery pre or post pregnancy? Many thanks

A. Thank you for your email. Breast reduction is a very common surgery. You may wish to get the operation done based on symptoms and discomfort because of large breasts. Ability to breast feed may be affected in approximately 50 % of patients following breast reduction. I have following suggestions to help you further: 1) Please send me good quality photos for my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com  to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. Please contact my office on 0208 997 3976 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm or by email on info@vadodariaplasticsurgery.com for further guidance.
