my skin is looking a bit leathery. Are there any preventative measures I can take to prevent it getting worse?
Q. I have lived abroad and basked in the sun for most of my adult life. I use a cream with a high SPF, but my skin is looking a bit leathery. Are there any preventative measures I can take to prevent it getting worse? When I move back to UK I would love to have my healthy pale skin again.
A. Thank you for your inquiry. In essence, it should be looking at an SPF above 45, and I would still suggest that in the middle of the day you should either avoid being in the sun or a wear a hat. It is also possible to use the Obagi protocols or a chemical peel to help improve the colour and texture of the skin. Fraxel laser is also an option.
