Q. Body Lift surgery is what I am seeking after losing six stone in weight the excess skin around my stomach is the most annoying disheartening thing in the world. I was told to wait a year and a half after losing the weight to see if it would tighten naturalkly but this has not been the case at all despite my best efforts with food and working out.

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, if you have achieved your ideal weight now I think that it’s unlikely that the skin will naturally tighten. Usually after this skin will retract after couple of months if it is going to do so and unfortunately if you do lose a considerable amount of weight such as a six stone its unlikely that skin will fully retract. Q. Im am seeking more information on the body lift surgery and what procedures it involves. After losing six stone in weight the excess skin around my stomach is the most annoying disheartening thing in the world. I was hoping the area would tighten up with regular exercise but this is not the case and I would really like a solution to this.

A. Hi there. congratulations on your weight loss. There is a lot of skin that may need to be removed after losing so much weight. We tend to remove one or two areas at a time – for example, common combinations include a breast uplift and arm lift, or a tummy tuck and thigh lift, or back lift and tummy tuck. Often people who lose large amounts of weight will have more than one operation to lift various parts of their body and improve their silhouette. Q. I have lost over 100 pounds in the last 2 years and have loose skin all over my body. I have had a tummy tuck about a year ago and am very pleased with the results. I also have loose skin all in my back, my butt, my arms, and thighs. I was wondering if it’s an actual body lift i need now?

Q. How soon after having gastric bypass can i have a body and face lift, its only been 8 months and have lost almost 10 stone, i have 3 left to go, im sure the extra weight is from the folds or skin on my legs arms and belly will remove almost that, i exersise well and eat perfectly

Q. i had gastric bypass surgery and i hope next year or as soon as i reach my healthy BMI i am sure i will need a Body Lift. I work in Saudi Arabia and only come to the UK on vacation, so if i require surgery i would need to see the surgeon have surgery within 2weeks or would i need longer to recover? Q. I would like to know the prices of body lift surgery, i weighed at almost 300lbs.and i m only 25 yrs old!! i have 2 children before i had them i was so skinny and beautiful but after that i was getting depressed and eating disorder….more gaining up…and up. However i had gastric band fitted and the weight have fallen off and i am now with few lbs of my ideal weight however i have enormous amount of loose skin (tummy, tights, arms and breasts) what kind of surgeries can be done to correct the problems?

A. Thank you for your inquiry. With the degree of weight loss that you are  describing, you should probably discuss first with your GP, as treatment through the NHS may be possible. I cannot guide regarding the price of  body lift surgery,  as I prefer to do the abdominoplasty and posterior  lift separately,  to minimise  the risks,  but there are many surgeons that will offer this intervention   as a single operation.
