Q. Hi, I had bodytite 6 weeks ago and now have a dip in my stomach about the size of my thumb. I rang the clinic they said they would ring me back then never. I rang them again and spoke to the dr who said this was normal and it was too early to say I would have wait 3 months before they would look at it – is this accepatable I feel like I am being fobbed off? A. Thank you for your enquiry.   I am not sure from your description how deep it is the indentation that you described.   It would be fair to say that the contour will continue to change in the course of the next few months.   One aspect that would be useful to clarify is whether the appearance of the tummy is smooth when you are lying down, and the indentation appears only when you stand up.   If this is the case, the situation could be improved with massage to the area, which can help breakdown of the buildup or fibrous tissue that creates this depression when standing up. The mechanism is then the rest of the abdominal skin is gliding more when you stand up, leaving the depressed area pulled in stronger.   If there is a depression present even when lying down, the chances are then the area and may have had a bit too much taken out, and is less likely to recover by itself.   However, in terms of correcting any problems or this type, it would still need more time for things to settle down. Fat transfer would be the more likely treatment, meaning get some fatty tissue would be reinjected to the area to build up the volume, but this will need to be done probably closer to 6 months from the surgery.

Q. Can you advise me about the cost of bodyjet liposuction and where on the body the treatmnet is the most suited? I would like a large amount of fat removed from my thighs . Is bodyjet good for the thighs?

Q. How long does it take generallky for the swelling to go down after normal liposuction surgery and could you tell me if there are other techqniques that offer a smaller recobvery time with less swelling?

A. Thank you for your enquiry.   The extent of the swelling after liposuction depends very much on the volume reduction that is operated at the time of treatment.   I have found that radiofrequency-assisted liposuction ( Bodytite) leads to less bruising and in some instances faster resolution of the swelling, although this is not universal.   Techniques that involve a shorter recovery time, I usually techniques that have less visible impact in the treatment area, and would typically be represented by the externally applied ultrasound.   In smaller volume treatments, laser assisted liposuction may also have a quicker recovery time, but I have not found to the laser assisted liposuction to be very useful for a larger volume treatments.

Q. How much is the laser liposuction procedure and how effective is this and how long do you need off work?

A. Thank you for your inquiry. The costs of the treatment various with the area or areas that it addresses. I do find that it is more effective around the face, but that I prefer to use the radiofrequency assisted technique [Bodytite] when it comes to contouring of the body. The time off work depends again on the areas treated and the amount of fatty tissue removed.

Q. I have lost a lot of weight since my gastric bypass surgery over a year ago. I now have a lot of excess skin I would like removed. I am considering the Vaser liposuction or Bodytite and wondered if you offer either of these treatments and your thoughts on which is better?
