I had bodytite 6 weeks ago and now have a dip in my stomach about the size of my thumb
Q. Hi, I had bodytite 6 weeks ago and now have a dip in my stomach about the size of my thumb. I rang the clinic they said they would ring me back then never. I rang them again and spoke to the dr who said this was normal and it was too early to say I would have wait 3 months before they would look at it – is this accepatable I feel like I am being fobbed off? Many thanks.
A. Thank you for your enquiry. I am not sure from your description how deep it is the indentation that you described. It would be fair to say that the contour will continue to change in the course of the next few months. One aspect that would be useful to clarify is whether the appearance of the tummy is smooth when you are lying down, and the indentation appears only when you stand up. If this is the case, the situation could be improved with massage to the area, which can help breakdown of the buildup or fibrous tissue that creates this depression when standing up. The mechanism is then the rest of the abdominal skin is gliding more when you stand up, leaving the depressed area pulled in stronger. If there is a depression present even when lying down, the chances are then the area and may have had a bit too much taken out, and is less likely to recover by itself. However, in terms of correcting any problems or this type, it would still need more time for things to settle down. Fat transfer would be the more likely treatment, meaning get some fatty tissue would be reinjected to the area to build up the volume, but this will need to be done probably closer to 6 months from the surgery.
