Q. I have heard that there are injections available from cosmetic surgeons that can fill in the worry lines between my eyes and the frown lines on my forehead and I was just wondering how long these injections last and will I have to keep repeating the process to maintain the flawless, furrow less look that I want?
A. Thank you for your enquiry. From your description it does sound as if Botox treatment could be appropiate for you. Botox works by relaxing the overactive musles which cause wrinkles on your forehead. Botox treatment tends to work for approximately 4 months which means you will need to have it 3 times in the first year. After this the muscles weaken naturally and you will not need treatment so often. The costs of Botox treatment range from £200-£300 depending on the areas treated. It is very rare for anything to go wrong as Botox treatments are very safe when given by experienced doctors. Q. What kind of non surgical treatments can you do to give my eyes a lift. The skin seems to be in fairly poor condition on my eyelids and underneath my eyes. Can you do some kind of skin peel to improve appearance
A. Thank you for your enquiry. The best non-surgical treatment to give you ane eye lift is probably Botox treatment. This can be combined with either dermaroller treatment or a skin peel to your under eye region. Q. I am 30 years old and suffer from enlarged open and congested pores on my face namely in and around my nose, cheeks and forehead. I am also prone to breakouts and have some acne scars. My skin is extremely oily and sensitive. I had 5 gycolic peels a year ago which made my skin smoother but my pores remained the same. In conjuction with this treatment I used a gycolic cleanser which initally had positive results but it made my skin oilier by drying out my skin too much which resulted in red flaky painful skin. I am currently using Avene Cleanance Products. I cleanse my skin morning and night with warm water and then close my pores with cold water. Other products I have used dry my skin up as soon as I finish cleansing even though my face is so very oily. I use moisturiser only if I need too. I use a light srub 2-3 times a week. All moisturisers and liquid foundations block my pores. I use mineral powder foundation only to minimise clogging and for confidence. I lead a healthy lifestyle as I am acutely aware of the effects it would have on my skin otherwise. What treatments/products are available to reduce my pore size, remove my whiteheads/blackheads and acne scars and reduce sebum production and improve my overall complexion. Thank you very much.

Q. If i am having Botox done would i be given any anaesthetic first? I really hate injections and have a phobia of dentists and needles and think i would panic if i was to have Botox and it hurt a lot?
A. For botulinum toxin treatment, it is possible and relatively common for practitioners to use a local anaesthetic cream to the treatment area. The injections are performed with very fine needles, and are not likely to hurt even without the anaesthetic cream, but are certainly less of a concern with the anaesthetic. You can enquire ahead of time in the practice where you intend to have the treatment will offer the local anaesthetic cream.
