Q. I had a Breast Enlargement 5 years ago and I am really not happy with the results. They look fine when I am wearing a top and the shape of them are fine but I am too embarrassed to take my top off because the scars are still really bad. Im not going to have any more surgery but would like to get the scarring treated and I am not going back to the same surgeon. Could you tell me what could be done for the scarring in this area and is there any home treatments I could use to help?
A. Hi there I am delighted you are pleased with your results. Poor scarring following any surgery is possible but quite unusual following BBA. The treatments for this will vary but range from aggressive massage, use of silicone gel sheeting, steroid injections, Rationale Delivery serum (topical hyaluronic acid). Q. How much does breast augmentation for tubular breasts usually cost, and does it usually result in more problems than regular breast enlargement surgery?
A. Tubular breasts mean either the fold under the breast has not developed or the breast herniates through the nipple. Expansion or stretching of the distance from the nipple to a new correct distance fold is needed. This can be done in the same way as a conventional breast enlargement or in seevere cases needs tissaue expansion and reduction of the nipple. In my practice I charge the same fee except if expansion is needed. The fee is £4220 to £4500 depending on the implant type used

Q. I had my breast enlargement 2 months ago and although very happy with the whole procedure im unhappy with the results as its not what i asked for. I had them done with Harley Medical Group as although more expensive i felt the aftercare was better. I had my original consultaqtion where my surgeon gave me an implant to try in and discussed the sizes. he advised i not go too big as i am only 5′ tall but after leaving this consultaion i was unhappy and wooried that id be paying out for breasts i wouldnt be happy with. So i arranged to have another meeting with my surgeoun just a few weeks before my surgery date. Where i then explained i wanted larger implants i wanted it to be obvious id had implants. i had also discussed this with the nurse numerous times. now im not swollen and feeling is back they look no bigger just rounder where id lost my firmness from breast feeding. I have another appointment later this month but im not sure what i can do. i feel he may have used the implants discussed in the first consultation. i really cannot afford to have them done again. is there anything i can do?? thank you
A. Thank you for your inquiry. You need to discuss your concerns with your surgeon, and see what they can offer in terms of changing the current implants to a larger size. Depending on the size of implant which you already have, he or she may not be happy to use large volumes, but from your description that seems unlikely. He may also be able to offer you the option to have the implants changed for a smaller charge, or possibly just covering the cost of the implants. Ultimately, if you do proceed with more surgery, at the end of the consultation you need to have clarity on the exact volume agreed upon, so that he can verify what has been used at the time of the operation.

A. Thank you for your inquiry. As a rule, I tend to do this surgery only after the age of 18, although this does not mean that you are biologically or mentally too young for the surgery. However, there are further changes could be expected to occur naturally to the breast volume and shape, and surgery at an early stage may have a consequence the need for further interventions, primarily on cosmetic grounds, as your body image also evolves.
